About: Astri Holthe (1917-1998) was the daughter of jeweler and watchmaker Emil Ager-Wick. She even went into goldsmithing. Astri had a fantastic drive and energy. She started small with jewelry according to her own drawings; first in simple premises in Hylleveien. Here, glass beads were rolled hand-melted from glass rods. She registered the company in 1943. Astri was the designer and factory owner. At that time, there was almost no jewelry to be bought; the women were hungry for something to decorate themselves with. She designed and made all the models herself. Right after the war, it was difficult to obtain enough materials, but Astri traveled the world to study other, new and better manufacturing methods and find new sources of materials.
