Original SS Service Dagger model 1933. Maker code is 1196 which is awarded to Edward Wusthof Dreizackerk from Solingen and manufacturing year 1938.
The grip is of ebony and lacks a piece at the front and small chips on top, see pictures. Ebony is very fragile, damage is often seen in this type of dagger.
The grip is provided with original SS emblem and aluminum eagle.
The eagle is of aluminium, exactly what was used in this production period. The eagle is guaranteed to be originally placed, see pictures, the eagle fits very nicely in the appropriate notch in the grip.
SS runes on the eagle's swastika and the SS emblem, covered, conform in accordance with Catawiki regulations, but completely present.
Cross-guards are of the nickel-plated version, correct for this production period.
The blade has the motto of the SS: "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" and on the back the RZM number of the manufacturer is etched.
The blade shows traces of use and light oxidation spots, which can be easily improved. I left the dagger in the state as found.
The sheath is original dyed and provided with nickel plated steel fittings, also correct for this production period. Mounts show some slight oxidation spots, see pictures. All four original screws are present undamaged.
